    Minecraft on PC - "Failed to login" (cannot sign in in-game)


    I purchased this game yesterday (Minecraft for Windows 10 edition), but pushing the "Sign In" button on the main page only ever brings up a pop up menu that reads "Failed to login: We tried to sign you in to your Microsoft account, but something went wrong".

    Because of this, even though I can find a friend's server, I cannot connect to it.

    Also, modifying my profile/character, when trying to change my name (through "Achievements"), I only get a pop-up window to sign in with a Microsoft Account, however, pressing on the "Sign in for free" button only takes me back to the Profile edit page.

    So, I am totally unable to join ANY server (I purchased this game to play with my nephews and nieces in lockdown...)

    I have even tried ensuring I am logged in to both the Xbox site as well as the Microsoft account online, but to no avail.

    Please help.

    most sign ins work besides the pc game pass sign in and the minecraft microsoft login. it seems anything with a pop up window to sign in does not work
