Minecraft on IOS, can’t sign in

As a follow up, my wife’s phone works fine with remote play, as she doesn’t want to upgrade to IOS 16 and still runs IOS 15 on her phone. I can’t manually “downgrade” my IOS version to IOS 15 as Apple stopped signing that version. So a fix needs to be found as a large part of the gaming community is experiencing this issue Microsoft!

Mojang has offered a workaround that may work for people who are interested in playing Minecraft on their iOS device. To try this fix, do the following:

1. Close Minecraft on your iOS device. This means fully closing out of the game by opening the multitasking menu and swiping up on Minecraft.
2. Open the Xbox app on your iOS device. You can download the app here if you don't already have it installed.
3. Tap on the hamburger menu.
4. Navigate to Settings.
5. Tap sign-out to sign-out from Xbox Live.
6. Close the Xbox app on your iOS device. You can fully close out of the app by opening the multitasking menu and swiping up on the Xbox app.
7. Open the Xbox app and follow the guidance to sign back into Xbox Live.
8. Launch Minecraft.
9. Attempt to sign in with your Microsoft Account again.

"I've done some research on the Drowned error for the game and it seems that for the most part, it's due to accidentally typing in the wrong password. One fix for this is to try resetting it at https://account.live.com/password/reset. Just type in the email for your account then follow the instructions.

If that does not work then try the following steps:

Exit the game and launch it again.

Head to the Settings menu, then to your Profile.

Click “Clear Account Sign-in Data,” then “Confirm.”

Wait until the sign-in data is cleared and restart the game again.

Try to sign back into the game.
