    Hi there. i have been getting the beta version instead of the better together update of minecraft and i confirmed this with xbox support. i was asked to come here to resolve this issue as it is stopping me from playing with my friends.

    Hi, if your Xbox is using the insider update odds are you could be enrolled into the Minecraft beta. If that's the case you'll need to leave the Minecraft beta, see the link below.

    Hi Dylan,

    Thanks for keeping us updated with your replies. If the version of Minecraft you're using on disc is the Minecraft: Xbox One edition, then to update to the new Minecraft (Better Together), you'll need to purchase the game as it is a wholly different version.
    The free update from Minecraft: Xbox One edition to the new Minecraft edition (Better Together) ended on January 30th 2018.

    I have the same issue here. Seems a bit unfair that when you paid for a game you need to pay again for updates :S.

    I also created a support ticket for this and they said to keep on playing....

    WOnder if more people have this issue or that it did work for someone with the disc version
