    Minecraft - No "Better Together" -update for disc version owner after 1 month of waiting


    I've contacted Xbox via chat support about this issue, but they've only told me the standard response of waiting for several business days. I'm eligible for an update from the disc version of Minecraft to the Better Together version, I've played way more
    than 5 hours (way more) and even purchased a DLC. The last time I asked about this issue was now a month ago, so I think I've been patient about the issue, but nothing happens. The Better Together update never arrives, nothing appears under the 'ready to install'
    category.

    Minecraft occasionally reminds me of a new version, but this only redirects me to the store where they ask me to pay 19.99€ for the game. The January deadline is just around the corner, which makes this even more irritating.

    Something's not right with this game. Judging by the number of comments this issue is persistent, please get it sorted, people are understandably getting frustrated.

    If you're trying to upgrade the disc version then that is correct. It's currently only free to users who own it digitally.

    Hi, if you have the Minecraft Xbox One disc version then sadly that offer of a free upgrade to the Better together version no longer applies and you will need to buy Minecraft again.

    It seems that the window has been missed, but the following information is also provided:

    Q: What is going to happen to the old console edition?

    A: The old console edition will not be available for new purchases after the full release of Minecraft on Xbox One and Switch. Existing owners will still be able to access and play the old console version
    and minigames, but those versions will not receive updates after the official release of Minecraft.

    Hey Benjamin,

    Are you referring to the Better Together Update and the current Minecraft version using the Bedrock engine?

    If so, the window to update to that version from the disc version of Minecraft Xbox One Edition has passed. The update released in September of 2017 and the window to update ended on January 30th, 2018.
