minecraft multiplayer problems

May I ask what is the exact error or issue that your son is getting whenever he is trying to play Minecraft multiplayer so I can check that for you?

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Xbox Community. I understand that you are having issues playing multiplayer in Minecraft and you are receiving an error message.

This error usually appears when your Xbox permissions are not configured properly. This time, try to use a different browser to rule out any possible cache issue.

1. Go to https://account.xbox.com/settings

2. Login using your Microsoft account with Minecraft (Parent account).

(if it doesn't say it and directs you to the website, make sure you're signed in using the correct email)

Note: If you don't have an Xbox account, it will ask you to make one, so make any account.

3. If you scroll down, under your username and Avatar it should say "Xbox one/windows 10 online safety" click on that

4. Scroll down until you see "You can join multiplayer games" allow or block,

Select "Allow" to enable multiplayer in your account

Relaunch Minecraft and you should be able to join any multiplayer server.

Once done, you may sign back in to Minecraft and should be able to play multiplayer.

Important: If you just recently configured this setting, please allow at least few hours for the new settings to reflect to all Microsoft servers. You may try to sign out and sign back in to your Minecraft to resync your profile.

You may need to reach out to Mojang in regards to the issue that you're experiencing in that way they can get this investigated further.

I checked my settings and they are already set to allow people to play with me online but it still isn’t working. My switch doesn’t have any parental controls set to restrict anything on it either.
