Minecraft multiplayer not working

I have been trying to play minecraft woth my friemds for hours and can ot get it to work. Every time i try to make a world i make sure that multiplayer is on and when i get in the world i cant invite anyone and it says that it is no longer a multiplayer
game. I have tried many things like signing out and back in, uninstalling minecraft, changing my multiplayer permission settings, nothing works. And the few times that i can join my friends world it just says unable to connect to world. Can somebody please
help mw with this
