Minecraft Multiplayer Issues (windows 10 Xbox one)

I have searched far and wide for answers to this issue and have come up with nothing.

I can not connect to a friend's world, and they can not connect to mine via online multiplayer on Xbox One Windows 10 edition.

We have tried everything. Taking down firewalls, making sure NAT is open, removing each other as friends and then re-adding, you name it.

Nothing has worked and It really shouldn't be this hard to play games with a friend. It's clearly been a thing for years now but there doesn't seem to be any actual support for this issue.

Windows/Xbox support directs you to majong, and majong directs you to Windows/Xbox.

If anyone has found any answers for this please help.

Yes I have done that, unfortunately it did not solve anything.

Check the update version, if you are part of the beta you will not be able to join the normal versions

Did you check if you or him are on the Xbox preview beta with the Minecraft Xbox one edition through Windows 10 because that can limit you if you can join people that aren't on the program

if you haven't checked yet, be sure to check your privacy and online safety settings at
http://account.xbox.com/settings and especially the settings that will allow multiplayer and also user created content, this needs to be checked on all accounts involved.

If changes were made, you might have to sign out and back in again before the changes are updated.
