Minecraft multiplayer doesn't work

If you're on an Xbox console, do you also have an active Xbox Live Gold subscription? Because it is required to play an online multiplayer game.

Press the Xbox button on your controller to open the guide, and then select System > Settings > Account > Subscriptions.

Please sign in to account.xbox.com/settings and ensure none of the multiplayer permissions are blocked.

Note that you can't access the link if you are a child account, since you will need an adult account from the family group to change the settings on your behalf!

If I may ask, is your daughter on Xbox or PC? This will determine the next step that we have to perform.

Also, if she is on Xbox console, please note that she'll need an Xbox Game Pass Core (formerly known as Xbox Live Gold) or any Xbox Game Pass subscription plan to play online. This is the same if she is playing on a different console platform.

If she is on PC, please sign in first on a different account such as her brother's account on the launcher then quit the launcher before signing back in to her Microsoft account. This is to refreh or sync the changes that were made.

That's odd. As long as you're using the same account you should be able to play on both without any issues. You can simply sign in to https://account.xbox.com/settings and from there make sure that these settings are set to “allow” or “everyone”:

* You can see and upload community creations

* You can communicate outside of Xbox Live with voice & text

* Others can communicate with voice, text, or invites

* You can play with people outside of Xbox Live

* You can create and join clubs

* You can join multiplayer games

Make sure to hit “submit” when you made any changes.

Do you and your friend have the same Minecraft update version as each-other?

And check your NAT- type. You can do this by going into settings>network>network settings. if your NAT Type says anything else than open, you might want to check with your ISP.

And have you tried reinstalling the app/hard/soft resetting the device your using?
