MINECRAFT MIGRATION PREVENTING ME FROM DOWNLOADING THE LAUNCHER

Good Morning,

I was experiencing OpenJDK issues with Minecraft Java edition following update 1.18.1 which caused my CPU to run at 100% before crashing the game out of nowhere; to start off, I could not find any solutions to this anywhere besides un-installing and re-installing the game. I decided to do this, as well as restart my computer, but nothing seemed to work. I un-installed the game, and then opted to migrate, as Microsoft was going to force me to do this anyway.

This is where things get even worse.

After migrating, I can no longer download Minecraft's launcher at all; upon starting it with the .exe from your site, I get the following message:

I am fully logged in to Microsoft.com, as well as to the store; when trying to get it from the store, I get this message:

Can I get useful direction on how to re-download this game; I purchased it, I followed your advice and migrated, and all it has caused is a massive headache. Please advise.

Hello DevNauta, before you download the launcher, have you checked if you have the latest version of Windows installed, at 21H2, because recently came out the latest update to Windows 10 and 11.

Updates often seen as optional, Microsoft released major fixes this week, and make sure you have the Xbox Companion App installed.

If you haven't updated yet, click the link below, update and then make all subsequent security updates.

After that, make sure you have all the xbox apps up to date in the Microsoft store.

Thanks Ricardo, but I downloaded the launcher and from the Microsoft store and used my migrated Microsoft account, but it is still telling me that I have to re-buy Minecraft.

If you received the confirmation email about the migration, it migrated properly for sure. Please make sure you download the right version of Minecraft (Java or Minecraft for Windows) and use this Windows 7/8 launcher for now.
