Minecraft Migration - loss of bedrock edition?

I apologize for bringing a new question so much later in the year here but I followed what you said here in your reply to @. I went through my purchases and found my purchase of "Minecraft for Windows", which was really my purchase of Bedrock Edition, for $28.61 back in October of last year. I found the receipt, clicked show details, clicked on the icon, and still nothing happened after I signed out of my account in the Minecraft launcher. I was wondering what to do since I purchased both the Java version and the Bedrock Edition and I can only play one. Along side with the fact that I have now payed for two games even though they are being given out as one. If you could help me that would be great.

I don't have experience with the 2 for 1 deal but my partner has both versions and because he runs windows 7 he is unable to play the latest Windows version of Minecraft. Maybe check if your Windows is entirely up to date since that was something he overlooked at the time.

I messed around in the Minecraft Launcher and managed to fix my own problem in the end. I did contact Minecraft support but they covered steps similar to the ones discussed in this thread. I have listed what I did below and hopefully, it helps get you in the right direction but if not, you may need to submit a ticket to Minecraft.

What I did:

Open Minecraft Launcher.

Click on Minecraft Java Edition/whatever edition you believe you have (when I did this all of the editions were listed as demo and nowhere said 'play')

Up the top it should say Play/Buy and something along the lines of either history, downloads, installations (I can't remember the exact wording) but click on that. It should display the previous times you downloaded the game and what version it was. Click on that last download and you can simply redownload from that.

I have attached a little screenshot for you, from what I recall this looked slightly different when I was having my issue and the layout only changed after reinstalling the game from here.

I really hope this helps. I would suggest carrying out the whole log out/log in process and checking your email, restarting .etc. on top of this JUST in case that helps.

That’s odd because if this is the Minecraft for Windows it will be purchased through Microsoft Store. The Minecraft that can be purchased through Mojang is Minecraft Java Edition.

Kindly make sure that you’re signed in under the account where the Mojang account was migrated. Please try other Microsoft accounts as well.

Thanks Francia, maybe i am mistaken and it is java edition that I own.
I would like to add that when I log into minecraft.net and click on 'Get Minecraft' > 'Minecraft Java Edition' it gives me a download option NOT a buy option and says beside it "Already own Minecraft? Download it again."

I have submitted a ticket to Mojang with screenshots of everything so hopefully, we will be able to figure this out soon.

Thank you so much for the help.
Unfortunately, it was not purchased through Microsoft. I purchased it a couple of years ago through Mojang.
I have the receipt from my Paypal account but since I have merged my account with Microsoft I can't log in through Mojang anymore.

Are there any steps I should take from here?

You may need to locate your license for the game. Kindly sign in to https://account.microsoft.com/billing/orders and then locate the transaction for the game Minecraft for Windows.

Make sure that you're signed in under the correct account where the game was purchased. Sign out and sign back in on your Minecraft launcher.

You can also install it directly on Microsoft Store or Xbox App.
