Minecraft lost over a year of saves

A few years ago I started building a city in Minecraft (creative) and recently started playing again. I have been playing at least a few days a week for about a month or so. Today I turn my Xbox One on and when I went into Minecraft everything I had build
recently was gone. I quickly exited and went back into where you pick your world and it said my last save was over a year ago!

If your saves were not on the HD, I am afraid your only choice is to find the usb or start over. I realize how hard it is to loose your minecraft saves. My 360 burped one day and deleted every saved game I had, and both profiles as well. There was a lot
of hours lost on minecraft saves being gone, but I have had a lot of fun setting up my new world. Just remember what you had done, and design it into a new world.

the date is the 12th of december 2013 for reference. today there was an update to the xbox software, not sure what it did. however, recently i have been having a problem where if i go to the dashboard from a a game i would be signed out of xbox live.
i tried a solution which had worked temporarily before (i think i found it on youtube), where i would delete my xbox profile from the console and then re-download it. on the the screen (in the storage mode in settings) there were two options: delete profile,
and delete profile and items. prior to this recent update, i had accidenatly selected 'delete profile and items' but this caused absolutely no issues. however, after this update, i, again, accidentaly selected the delete profile and items, but this time, it
froze my console. so i turned it of and on again, and re-downloaded my account. when i went on my minecraft, i had found ALL my saves were gone. i checked in the storage and it said i had 40 mb of saved data in minecraft, so i assume that they werent deleted,
but now i cant access them. if anyone has any similar problems and hopefully a solution, that would be great, thanks

 

If your console was properly connected online, and had time to synchronize your savegames with the Xbox Live Cloud, you could try to force the console checking the online save storage.

Before you do that: Be aware that we are going to delete your local save copies. If the console did NOT upload your saves to the Cloud, the local saves will be gone!!!

To force the download from the cloud, go to "My Games and Apps" and go to the Minecraft tile. There press the menu button (the small button on the right of the Xbox Button with the three lines), then choose to manage the game.

On the right, you should see buttons to clear the local save storage, and to delete saves from all consoles (i.e. the cloud).

ONLY delete the LOCAL storage, do NOT delete the save from all consoles!!!

After the local save storage is deleted, start Minecraft.

The console should then synchronize the savegames with the cloud. Do not abort that process!

If you have luck, and only your local save storage was affected, you should now have your savegames back.

If not, then I'm afraid your savegame is completely lost :-(
