  1. Minecraft: Lost Data

For the last 6 or 7 months, I've been using a minecraft creative world. The save file appeared to be a fairly large one, compared to the others on my console. Today, when I tried to play it with a friend, after selecting a guest profile we were not able
to play the game. When it was restarted and the same world was selected to open, it was unresponsive to the A button, and the little icon that was the last saves location turned into the minecraft dirt block icon. the only thing that I could do to the file
was rename it; it could not be moved or copied. After a number of attempts signing in and out, and restarting the console both properly and through power interruptions, the file is still unable to be accessed.

It's unfortunate that with this console I can't go into the storage and look at each file individually, similar to the 360, so I'm really at a loss for what to do.

    :)

    Saved data not mine!?

    Hey there Victis!

Have you tried loading up the minecraft worlds that you don't recognize to see if they're perhaps your worlds just with different names?

If the worlds are definitely not yours, then it looks like your Minecraft data was lost.

As Mister Fizzle said, there have been issues in the past where Minecraft Title updates have caused Minecraft worlds to be lost. It's possible that this has happened (since a Minecraft update came out recently).

However, the loss of your Skyrim save seems to indicate that the process to move the data from your USB drive to your hard drive did not complete properly or errored during and caused the data to be lost.

I'm sorry that I don't have better news for you.

    I lost My Minecraft Data

Just like PhD said, if you deleted your profile and items then the data that is linked to your gamertag will have been completely deleted. Go to game saves in your settings, then find Minecraft. Go through that to see if you have any game saves and data
linked to your gamertag, and if you don't then it's probably been accidentally deleted when you deleted your profile.

  4. Minecraft: Lost Data

It may also be important to note that I was able to play on the world around 15 hours ago, the last time I accessed it.

    Hello I.VladYaushev,

Thank you for contacting the Xbox support forums. I understand that you have lost your character data after reinstalling Windows. With the initial launch of Minecraft Dungeons, there was an issue that would wipe save data for a character in the game. It may not be possible to recover your exact character, however there is a fix to help prevent you from starting at the very beginning of the game.

For steps on how to install a Minecraft Dungeons character, please visit: Minecraft Dungeons: I Lost My Character Data

Please let us know if you are able to follow the steps above. If you still run into an issue with Minecraft Dungeons, you may respond back to this forum post or contact Mojang directly with a ticket at Minecraft Help Center

    Thank you!

    -Tali

Loss of my Minecraft worlds after migration from Mojang to Microsoft

Hi Clémence! My name is Kyle and I'm an independent advisor.

If there aren't any world files in the Minecraft directory, and you didn't make a backup of your data, the worlds may unfortunately be lost permanently.

It's recommended to make frequent periodic backups of important data on your PC to prevent situations such as this.
