Minecraft local 2 player issue

ever since the update I can no longer play a continual minecraft game with my son. Previously i would log in and he would join with his local profile. Now, when he tries to join it doesnt list his profile as an option... It says we must create a profile
or play as a guest. We used guest last time but when we came back to the next session using guest all his possesions were gone. This last update has made it so we can no longer play as a family. Please let me know why we can no longer use the profiles that
were created for my kids. (They never signed this profiles up with xbox live as we only used them in 2 player games). Please advise.

Game suggestion

Minecraft is a 2 player split screen game (also up to 4-play split)

Borderlands 2 is also split, think racking games, fighting games, you could play a game that doesn't require a split screen to be a local game like FIFA, WWE, NHL, NBA etc

 

Bad achievements in Minecraft?

I've done 2 achievements, return to sender and local brewery, on Minecraft Xbox one edition and I haven't gotten the achievement for either. Both I've done several times and its been well over 24 hours. Anyone else having this issue? Any suggestions?

 

This happened to my niece, we had to essentially created a new account. But once we finished the new account had all the information of the "missing" account.

 

Hi. Can you explain how you created a new account that had the info of the old account? I dont get why i cant simply use the profiles we've been using for years now.

was your sons profile connected to an email address?

If so then you may be able to redownload the profile, (be sure to check if there is a corrupt profile present)
