Minecraft Launcher not connecting to Minecraft services

I've had the Minecraft for Windows 10 version since it was a demo release with the Minecraft Xbox One console. I've been a subscriber to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate for more than a year now. I heard about the Launcher and the merge for a while now, and have wanted to play Minecraft Java for a while, and since I have Game Pass Ultimate, that's supposed to include both Xbox games AND PC games in the Game Pass Library.

Well, through the Launcher, I'm supposedly able to play both versions of Minecraft on PC (Java and Bedrock). But at the bottom of the Launcher window it says, "Oh no! Something went wrong, and we couldn't connect to the Minecraft services. Try again." And where it says "Try again," it's a link to refresh the connection. Even with as many times as I have tried to sign in, sign out, and sign in again, or uninstall and reinstall the Launcher, it simply won't connect.

I'm assuming as a result of it not connecting, or even recognizing that I have Game Pass Ultimate, I can't play either version of the game through the Launcher. Because I own it separately, I can install and play Minecraft for Windows 10 by itself anytime without the launcher. I'm stumped.

Has anyone else encountered this and found a resolution?

I did. Now it's added, and detects that I am connected with it. But Minecraft Launcher still fails to connect to services.

After looking over both of those links, neither lead me to a solution, and both include everything I've already attempted. It just seems like nothing has changed to fix this issue on Microsoft's side, and no fix or solution has arisen on the consumer's side that I've been able to find. I guess I'm inevitably stuck having to fully purchase both games through the Launcher at full price since any time I click "Play with Game Pass for PC" it automatically takes me to the webpage to subscribe to Game Pass for PC, even though I have Ultimate. Neither version through the Launcher gives me a button to just play, only "Buy Now", or "Play Demo".

I hit buy now and it is making me buy the game. It also says in the bottom left that it cannot connect to minecraft services on the launcher.
