Minecraft launcher issue

It means that it's just an issue with the Minecraft launcher. Kindly uninstall it and then reinstall the launcher from Xbox App.

There are two ways to install Minecraft Launcher, first is through Microsoft Store (Minecraft Launcher) and second is through Minecraft website (Download Minecraft & Server Software | Minecraft). Since you have issues with Minecraft Launcher, we recommend your try to uninstall the launchers you have installed and make sure you are using the correct account on Microsoft Store.

Then, visit Minecraft website to check your account that should show no Buy now option for any of the game versions of Minecraft (Login | Minecraft).

Next, try to install the Minecraft Launcher from the Microsoft Store and see if issue persist.

The last resort is to download the launcher and install it from Minecraft website. See if issue persist for the game.

Hi, Jenna. I appreciate you trying the steps. If the issue still persists, it would be best to coordinate with Minecraft team again since it’s an issue with the launcher. The Minecraft launcher on MS store will only work on Windows 10 or 11. Sorry

Please restart your computer because a simple restart can sometimes clear temporary issues.

And then update the Minecraft Launcher. Make sure that you have the latest version of the Minecraft Launcher installed. Check for updates in the Microsoft Store or the official Minecraft website.

Please include Java as well by making sure that you have the latest version of Java installed. Minecraft Java Edition requires a compatible Java runtime.

Next is to run as administrator. To do this, right-click on the Minecraft Launcher icon, select Properties, go to the Compatibility tab, and check Run this program as an administrator.

Then disable background applications. Please close unnecessary background applications that might interfere with the launcher.

After that is to repair the Launcher by going to Settings > Apps > Minecraft Launcher and select Repair.

If the issue persist after performing the troubleshooting steps, kindly uninstall and reinstall the launcher so that the corrupted files will be deleted from the Launcher file.

And then sign out and sign back in. To do this, log out of your Microsoft account in the Launcher, then log back in. This can refresh your session and fix account-related issues.

Next is to update the Launcher. Make sure that you are using the latest version of the Minecraft Launcher. You can check for updates in the Microsoft Store or on the official Minecraft website.

Then repair the Launcher. Go to Settings > Apps > Installed Apps.

Find the Minecraft Launcher, click the three dots, and select Advanced Options.

Please choose repair.

After that is to check Internet connection. Kindly ensure that you have a stable internet connection because connectivity issues can prevent the Launcher from functioning properly.
