Minecraft latest update error need help!

So I just came back from a holiday and I was ready to play some minecraft. I booted up my 2nd gen xbox 360, started the game and then this happened:

I had to download the latest update (September 17-2015) the update finished and I started the game. So far so good. When I selected to play the game I had to select my storage device, so I did like always. After selecting it, it all went wrong! The minecraft
menu became much darker and I got two screens saying I unlocked a steve avatar and a creeper hat. Strange because I hadn't even done anything in between the last time I played and today. but okay. I went to creative mode and started the game. The menu was
still very dark so I checked my cables. Everything was hooked up properly. The game froze over ten times when initializing textures and terrain. I had to boot up the xbox over and over again till finally I got to gameplay. Still very dark colors. But now the
left thumb stick didn't work. I could only move forward and strafe with the left thumb stick. I deleted all the minecraft files a couple of times but no change. When I play a different game everything seems to be okay, no color and controller issues.

In short: After latest update the colors are very dark and when the game doesn't freeze all the time and get to gameplay my left thumbstick fails to work. Also everytime I boot up the game I get the same unlock screens. Avatar and creeper hat unlocked!

Does anybody know what this is?

Minecraft Update Error

I went to try out Minecraft on xb1 today. I updated it to the latest patch and it freezed my xbox. I shut it down completely and then I restarted the console. Tried to play minecraft again and now the game won't start. Anyone else get this problem?

I was playing it about an hour ago no problems on X1.

 

It's your Sensitivity and your Gamma. Go to Help & Options. Then for the Gamma you have to go to Graphics and adjust it to whatever you want. 70% to 80% is what I usually set it at. Then you go to Control and adjust the Game Sensitivity (mine is 90%)and
Interface Sensitivity (mine is 100%) however you want it. You can still adjust these while in game play so don't worry about having to exit the game if you don't like what you have it at. For that just get to your menu using the start button. I had the same
problem with a dark screen and the left stick not working when I used an older TV and cables. Hope this helps!

 

Hi Plunny - I don't think this is the answer. I am experiencing the exact same problem and the issue is the game changing the gamma on its own at when the user attempts to load a save game. Additionally, the stick not working isn't likely to be caused by
the gamma.

In trying to solve the problem, I have uninstalled/reinstalled the game; changed controllers; changed batteries; tried different maps/saves; all without luck.

Has anybody else experienced this problem?

Microsoft - are you aware of the issue with the update?

 

Try uninstalling Minecraft and clearing your system cache, this works for me a lot.

 

I didn't say that the gamma was the problem for the stick not moving. It's the sensitivity causing that. I know because I had a dark screen and could only move certain directions. Gamma is the darkness of the screen. But if you don't want to try it or it
doesn't work, then try searching for your problem in a search engine. Others might have had the same problem.

 

It looks like Creeper_Destroyer at Minecraftforum figured it out. He suggested:

"Launch Minecraft using whatever profile(s) that are experiencing difficulties with the controls (e.g. right stick not working, etc.) BEFORE launch any world, go into "Help & Options" - "Settings" - "Reset to Defaults." (This should get rid of the controller
issues for the profile you have signed in with. You may have to repeat the process signing in with each profile that has been affected.)"

This fix worked for me. Good luck everyone!
