    Minecraft Java MacOs et iPhone


    Hello, I've spent 4 hours trying to connect with a friend on his iPhone where Minecraft is installed. I have a MacBook air under MacOS 10.15 and I bought Minecraft to be able to play with my friend. Even if we add each other on XBox account, we are unable
    to see each other in the FRIEND tab in Minecraft and it's really frustrating. I bought 35$ for the game and I'm unable to play it with friends.

    And why can't we see our friends in the Java version on MacOs and we can on the mobile version?

    Please help me!

    As blueamcat has mentioned you cannot crossplay from Java to bedrock editions. Unfortunately Java is the only available version for Mac and linux users. Bedrock is the version that is the play together version which will cross platforms. Windows 10 edition,
    Pocket Edition, and console version all run bedrock.

    Java edition and Bedrock edition on any other device are not cross-play. You'd need a Windows 10 version to play with your friend. Sorry!

    Hi there!

    As long as you purchase the Minecraft Java Edition, it will work on your MacOS. Be sure to use the same Microsoft account to access the game on your MacOS so your game license will be detected in game.

    Hi Peterwalsh8, I hope you're doing great out there despite the issue that you're experiencing. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regards to your concern.

    Just a friendly reminder though that for Minecraft Java Edition, it can be purchased on Mojang Store only which is why the Microsoft balance that you redeemed can't be used in getting the Minecraft Java Edition.

    You need to use a credit card, debit card, and another payment instrument at the Mojang store.
