    Minecraft Java Edition, why?


    Okay, I purchased MC Java about a year before Microsoft acquired them. To start off, my Xbox account was permanently banned last month for soliciting, completely my fault and I accept that. However, I just tried to log into the Minecraft Launcher and have realized that I can no longer play it, nor own it since I had to link it to my now banned MS account.

    Why is it that since my Xbox account is banned I can no longer play a PC game? Not to mention, I'm banned from a game that wasn't owned by Microsoft at the time of purchase...

    Basically what I'm asking is am I just (Mod Removed) and have to accept it or is there ANY way to fix this? (i.e unmigrating or somehow connecting my minecraft account to a different microsoft account)

    Minecraft for Windows, as it is, cannot be used on Xbox consoles. However, Minecraft for Windows is essentially Minecraft Bedrock Edition, which is the same edition used on Xbox consoles. That's why, for example, the Realms in Minecraft for Windows are the same as Minecraft Bedrock for Xbox consoles. In contrast, Minecraft Java Edition Realms are exclusive to PC and only accept Java Edition players.

    This is why most servers, even if they are third-party, have the same player compatibility system. It's highly likely that the server you're trying to access is intended for the Java version of Minecraft. That's why it doesn't allow you to log in from the Minecraft for Windows (Bedrock) edition, while it does allow access from the Java edition of the game.

    It's essential to clarify that "Minecraft for Windows" refers to Minecraft Bedrock, but that's how Mojang decided to name it on the PC platform, which can lead to confusion.

    I've tried from Minecraft website because Java Edition is not avaible on Microsoft Store.

    Yes I can use credits on Microsoft Store, but can't find Minecraft Java Edition. I tought that Minecraft was a Microsoft's production, and that's why I sent a 25€ credit to my son on Microsoft account.

    Is there a fix for this? Will Minecraft Java Editon be avaible on Microsoft Store?

    I'm being asked to buy Minecraft: Java and Bedrock edition although I have already owned Bedrock for years and I have Java on my laptop.

    The Xbox edition of Minecraft in the screenshot is still the Bedrock edition, is it not? I should have access to Java through owning the Bedrock edition, and I don't understand why I wouldn't be able to play it if I played Java in the past with my Microsoft account without having to buy Java.

    I saw that anyone who buys minecraft java edition is entitled to minecraft Windows 10. Is the reverse also true? Who buys minecraft windows 10 is entitled to minecraft java edition?

    If so, how do I access the java edition version at no additional cost?
