    Minecraft Java Edition not owned


    I have a Microsoft account that is a few years old, and I bought Minecraft Java edition relatively recently but before the account migration program began. Once I received the option to migrate my Mojang account to my Microsoft account, I did so and it worked as expected. More recently, the computer that I had been using died and after I replaced it, I downloaded the Minecraft launcher and signed in to my Microsoft account, but it said that the account did not own Minecraft Java edition.

    I don't see any limit saying that Java edition can be on only one device, and I have made sure the migration process is complete a few times, but it seems to have forgotten that the account actually does own Java Edition. I would rather not buy the game again and risk losing my previous account, so what can I do about this?

    My account was charged for game pass for pc and it says i have it but i cant play Minecraft Java

    As previously noted. Microsoft owns Minecraft, however Minecraft Java is not a Microsoft or Xbox game. The PC equivalent is “Minecraft Windows 10 edition” the Java version is a separate game not part of Minecraft bedrock, their-for not cross play with other devices.

    Xbox owns W10 edition not Java edition

    Thanks for taking the time to share it. If you sign in to the Minecraft website, are you able to redeem Minecraft Java Edition there, does it show that you also own Java Edition or it asks you to buy Java Edition?

    The Minecraft launcher you are referring to is only for the Java edition of Minecraft. The Java edition and Windows 10, are two separate games. In order to launch and play Minecraft from the launcher you are using in the last image, you must buy the Java
    edition from the site, not the Windows 10 version. Minecraft Java Edition | Minecraft. Annoying I know, but when Microsoft acquired Minecraft they released
    their own version of the game on their platform. Hope this helps
