Minecraft Java Edition not installing despite me very much owning it

I've quit playing Minecraft for a few months, I installed the launcher in hopes to play it but it just tells me I don't own it.

I vividly remember buying it. When i check the Xbox store reviews, not only am I not the only one with the problem, but every single person is also having the problem and Microsoft is doing f**k all.

I downloaded the 7/8 version and can play Minecraft, I see that as a solution till they finally do something about it

I had a similar problem once! It kept telling me that I had to be on the account that "bought" the game...despite the fact that it was working for me tons before. I would love to see a solution to this.

Alright. For the last time, we will be needing to uninstall the Minecraft Launcher. Please follow my lead.

Windows Settings > Apps & Feature > Apps > Search "Minecraft Launcher" > Advanced Options > Uninstall > Restart PC.

Now this will be the resolution part. Launch Microsoft Store App and not the Xbox App then search "Minecraft for Windows ". Make sure to check the account signed in first if that is the correct account where the game was purchased or the Mojang account was migrated.

You should see "Included with game pass" or "Get", make sure to click "Get" first for you to have an option to install or even if you have an option to install as long as there is a "Get" option that is what you will choose first.

Let it install completely.

I have it installed, and it's available as installed on both microsoft store and xbox. The launcher refuses to install the game.

I got you, kindly search "Minecraft Launcher" and from there you will see the "Get" option.
