Minecraft Java Edition login details

Dear Community

I've bought Minecraft Java Edition for my son over a month ago and cant figure out the user name and password that I need to use to log him in and get him to start playing on his MacBook.

We have downloaded the game but its in the demo mode.

I raised two support cases Minecraft support with this query and in both occasions their answer was to contact Microsoft support.

Unfortunately I couldnt find an email or contact number that I can raise this with Microsoft.

Appreciate if you anyone can point me to either:

- how to contact Microsoft to resolve this issue ?

or

- how can I figure out the username and password to use for playing Minecraft ?

On the minecraft launcher go to settings - accounts - click on the '...' and remove account.

and then log in with your microsoft account!

Since you purchased the game after december 2020 your login will always be with microsoft account!

Use the magnifying glass at the top and search for "Minecraft Java & Bedrock edition".

Select the game and it should send you to that same game page in the Microsoft Store.

When you login on your account at minecraft.net do you see the Java Edition purchase there? Does it show you the download button or purchase button?

Yes you have the Java Edition. Players who have purchased Minecraft: Java Edition before October 19th, 2018 can get Minecraft for Windows 10 for free by visiting their Mojang account.
Log into account.mojang.com, and under the “My Games” heading you will find a button to claim your gift code. If you purchased Minecraft: Java Edition
after October 19th, 2018, the button will not be there, so if you’re unsure of when you purchased Minecraft: Java Edition, that’s a good way to check. Pressing the button will generate a token and send you to a Microsoft redemption page.
