Minecraft - how do i get out of xbox and play on pc

Hi, I have a desire to play Minecraft again. I am soooo confused trying to get into it. It's on my PC. I've a microsoft account and am logging in with that. It keeps taking me to Xbox. I don't use the Xbox anymore. How on earth can I play on pc and get rid of the xbox link? I've googled it but nothing seems to change this link to xbox.

I would like to clarify, on Microsoft Store are you seeing “Minecraft” or “Minecraft for Windows”

The Minecraft is for Xbox only and if you’re on PC you need the Minecraft for Windows license.

i purchased Minecraft many years ago and always played on my pc. At some point i logged into it on my Xbox. So I've already purchased it for PC and shouldn't need to do this again. I just can't for the life of me work out how to stop it wanting to log into the xbox, i don't use that anymore and want to play on PC.

Do you mean you bought it for PC on the Microsoft Store?

Since Minecraft is not a Play Anywhere title, you would have to purchase it for the Xbox in order to play it on the Xbox. You wouldn't get it on Xbox just for purchasing it for PC.
