Minecraft freezes

So when i go to load up minecraft on the xbox one it freezes on the mojang screen and i cant do anything apart from press the guide button a couple of times and get a vibration and then the turn console off comes up and it returns to the xbox home screen.

Ive tried turning it off and on again.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling.

Occasionally it will come up with "minecraft has taken too long to start" but 80% of the time it just freezes and returns home with no explanation.

Im really not sure what else i can do without losing all of my data.

Should i just contact Microsoft directly or is it a simple fix??

1. Does Minecraft freeze on the menu screen?
2. Or does Minecraft freeze when you're in your Minecraft world?
3. If you start a new world in Minecraft, does that one freeze as well?

Paul from Xbox Forums Team here to help with the situation, The issue being that Minecraft is freezing on the Mojang screen or takes too long to start up. To help resolve this issue I suggest we do a few things. First is performing a

Power Cycle. Second step we can do to help fix the issue is clearing the local saved games. To do so on the Xbox One follow these steps. Go to the settings on the console, then go to system followed by storage. Once under the storage option click on the
option that says clear local saved games. This will restart the console. If these steps don't fix the issue I suggest uninstalling and reinstalling Minecraft. This should resolve the issue.

Hi there,

if this is only occuring with minecraft and not any other games then please try the following

1. Uninstall Minecraft from the console
2. Perform the manual power cycle steps like mentioned on the following link, be sure to wait at least 60 seconds before powering on again:
   
   http://support.xbox.com/en-us/xbox-one/console/power-cycle-console
3. Download a different item, like a demo or more, total should be at least a couple of GB
4. Redownload Minecraft

If that fails then if possible try to see what happens when a different profile tries to start the game on your console.

If this happens to other games aswell then I suggest trying a Factory Reset of the console with keeping games and apps installed, keep in mind that this will require you to download your profile(s) again, which requires the account credentials.
