    Minecraft for Windows crashes on startup


    Hi,

    I recently installed Minecraft Windows (Bedrock) Edition via Xbox Game Pass, and it crashes on startup, usually within a second or two of running and right after Mojang logo.

    Things I have tried:

    1. Updating Re-Installing Graphics Drivers

    2. Re-installing Minecraft, only having Bedrock installed

    3. Deleting Minecraft part of %AppData%

    Weirdest thing is Java Edition works fine. It's just Bedrock. Attached are some Windows Event Viewer logs of the crash.

    *****Note this is the exact same problem symptoms as posted by TrakXYZ (I translated it from Spanish using Google Translate), so multiple people are having this issue.

    Just to cover some bases, since I will try to help you troubleshoot while you contact Mojang:

    • Are you launching from the launcher or a desktop/start menu shortcut?
    • Have you deleted and redownloaded Minecraft Windows edition from the Launcher or from the Microsoft Store?

    Thanks for replying and keeping us updated on the situation. Sorry to hear that Minecraft is still crashing on your PC. There is a bit of troubleshooting you can do in our Minecraft:
    Windows 10 Edition FAQ     page that could prove helpful, if you haven't attempted them already.

    Additionally, when you start Microsoft Windows, typically there are several programs that start automatically and run in the background that may interfere with the game. You are correct programs may include antivirus and system utility
    programs. When you perform a clean startup procedure, you prevent these programs from starting automatically.



    Try this:

    Perform a Clean Startup to determine whether background
    programs are interfering with your games or programs

    Once you give this a try, please let us know the results.

    With the help of Intel Support, I solved the issue. It was the custom/OEM Dell graphics drivers. You need to use the generic drivers provided by Dell. I edited the post to provide the problem and solution to help others. Thanks.
