Minecraft for Windows 10 No Sound

Hi,

Everything in my system seems to working fine but Minecraft sound is not being detected by the OS. i.e, All my applications outputting sound appear in the Volume Mixer apart from Minecraft. I have reinstalled and tried countless internet solutions for this
to no avail.

Any ideas? Thanks

Did you buy "Minecraft" or "Minecraft for Windows 10"? "Minecraft" is the console version and it sounds like it's looking for a console to install it on.

There is a Minecraft for both xbox and windows 10. Sounds like you bought the pc version instead of the console version.

Is what you bought listed as "Minecraft" or "Minecraft for Windows 10"? It sounds like you purchased the Xbox version ("Minecraft") so it's looking for a console.
