    Minecraft for Windows 10 Code alllegedly used and MS Support not helping


    I purchased Minecraft a few years ago and Mojang gave me a free code for Minecraft for Windows 10. I decided to redeem it today but it seems like it was redeemed in 2017. So I checked my purchase history in my MS account and I cannot find it at all. I can't
    recall ever launching Minecraft for Windows 10 nor ever installing it in my PC.

    So I created a support ticket to generate a new one but this was their response (and they closed my ticket immediately. I'm not sure if replying to their email response will do anything):

    Hi,

    At this time, we are not able to process your code replacement request. The code that you are trying to redeem has already been redeemed on another account last
    September 2, 2017.

    Hi Evan,

    Thanks for coming to the forums. If the code has been redeemed they cant replace it. As the email states it was already redeemed on another account. Unless they can verify the account they cant see what account it is that the code was redeemed on. In this
    case you will just need to purchase another copy of the game if you do not know the account it was redeemed on. As there is nothing more for this situation I will be locking this thread.

    Thanks for reaching out to us in the forums with this question. In regard to the Minecraft: Java edition, if you purchased Minecraft: Java Edition before October 19th, 2018, can get this edition for free by requesting it from Mojang. If you did
    not, then you would be required to purchase the Minecraft: Windows 10 edition in order to obtain that version of Minecraft & change the skin. Minecraft: Java and the Windows 10 version are 2 separately coded versions of the game.

    Thanks for asking this question on the Xbox forums. In regard to any codes for a free version of Minecraft for Windows 10 with the purchase of Minecraft Java version, that would need to come directly from Mojang. According to their website, "Players
    who have purchased Minecraft: Java Edition before October 19th, 2018 can get Minecraft for Windows 10 for free by visiting their Mojang account.    "

    Should you like to check your ability to claim this code, I recommend following the instructions provided in the Mojang Support article entitled
    Minecraft for Windows 10.
    If it is determined that you're not eligible, then you would need to purchase that particular version in order to use it.
