Minecraft for Only One Profile?

I bought the game for myself and my younger brother, sharing the xbox, yet owning 2 different accounts. I had believed the system would work similarly to the Xbox 360 where both accounts could use the game because it was on the same xbox. Did they change
that? When he tries to go to the game the popup about buying it appears.

Can anyone please list all the Minecraft games in release by date? We are away to buy a couple for our daughter for Xmas, but confused which ones are new or seasons etc

I'm pretty sure Minecraft is just Minecraft. One game, Minecraft. There is also Minecraft story mode, that is a very different game, a telltale series.

Please make sure that the console is set as your Home console from Settings. After that you'll be able to share the game out with your brother. Otherwise he will not be able to play the game unless your gamertag is signed in at the same time.

As Smwutches stated the Bedrock edition is the upgrade from Minecraft Xbox One edition, the only way to play the Xbox One edition now is if you
install it from a disc.

I believe that this upgrade of minecraft editions is to do with the whole minecraft cross play thing.

It is important to point out that if you're referring to transferring only the Minecraft profile to another Microsoft account, something like that can't be done.

The Minecraft profile is attached to the Xbox profile, and this Xbox profile is attached to only one Microsoft account.

The changing alias (email) steps I shared are just if you want to create a new one for each child account and remove the existing ones.
However, Hotmail, Live, Outlook.com, and MSN addresses can't be added as aliases, and you can't add an alias that is already associated with another Microsoft account.

So, if you actually use your Microsoft account for other things like Office 365, Outlook, etc., It is not recommended to go through this process.

You do not, as long as you use the account that you purchased minecraft with. For example, If you bought minecraft with Profile(1), you could log on as profile(1) on any other Xbox and download minecraft for free, you can only do this if profile(1) has
an Xbox live membership, you must also be connected to Internet at all times in order to play minecraft on the new xboxes.

Hi I have the exact same problem where my Xbox account name says one thing and says I have paid for Minecraft but when I click on th manage profile button it takes me to a different Minecraft account where is says that I do not have Minecraft java edition and so can't play it. The only reason I was able to play on that pc was because it automatically signed me in when I sign in on another device using the email address used for my Minecraft account it takes me to the profile without Minecraft on it.
