minecraft DLC on child's account

hi

We have an xbox one at home, my son has been playing minecraft no problem and has a paid downloaded DLC for dinosaurs.

All of this was done originally through my own account/gamer ID "", we recently bought him a custom control for himself as a present and so I thought I will make him an email address and gamer ID of his own to play with.

He now has his own ID etc and is part of the xbox family thing to share the games I've paid for etc.

However when he goes onto minecraft in his own ID it says that he doesn't own the DLC for dinosaurs

Is there a way around this? I assumed with him being part of the family sharing he would have access to all of my content and subscriptions.

The minecfraft game itself loads up no problem its just this DLC pack.

Hi

If I log into my user profile I can use the dinosaurs template, if I log back into my sons profile its locked and saying I have to pay for it again

Hey there

check with your ID if the DLC is loading properly in the game... otherwise could be corrupted and you can try to uninstall and install again

Hi JuurGroove, I hope you're doing great out there. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regard to your concern.

There are DLCs that can be shared and there are DLCs that can't be shared as well. Just a friendly reminder though that setting up a family setting does not mean that the game, DLCs, and subscriptions will be shared to their account, it is a feature where you can manage a child account.

You need to set your account as Home Xbox on the console in that way all profiles logged in to the console will be able to use your subscriptions, DLCs, and games.

1. Sign in to your account.

2. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

3. Select Profile & system > Settings > General > Personalization, and then select My home Xbox.

4. Check "Make this as My Home Xbox".

Yes, my account is already set as Home Xbox on my console and all the other purchases I've made under my account have been accessible with my children's accounts as well. What I am asking is the following:

1. Is the Minecraft Dungeons Ultimate DLC is sharable like this or not with my children's accounts if I purchase it with my own (Home Xbox) account?

2. If not then should I purchase the DLC directly with any of my child's account, even though the Game Pass subscription with the base game comes with my own account?

3. In that case, do I need to purchase it multiple times if both of my children want to have it and play it together?

4. Is there a way/place to check whether the DLC can be shared or not? Like what about the Adventure Passes Luminous Night and Cloudy Climb? Are they sharable like this or should i again buy them directly from my children's accounts?

Unfortunately you will not be able to transfer the game to another account.

You can however set up a family account that will include your daughter's. You will be in charge of what her account will be able to do.
