    I have minecraft on my phone, it's version bedrock 1.14. My friend has it on His laptop, windows 10 edition 1.15. Why can't we play cross-platform? Every time it says that the client is outdated.

    Minecraft for XBOX has two different versions, bedrock and Minecraft Xbox One. You can only play together with the same one, as I am pretty sure Bedrock edition is outdated, but I could be wrong on that.

    This is a cross platform issue, it works for fortnite and Minecraft because you could be playing against PC players, it doesn't work for other games that are not cross platform though. Imagine if you could use a keyboard and mouse in BO4 for instance,
    it wouldn't be fair!

    Yes and no. The game in question needs to have cross-platform enabled, like Fortnite or Minecraft.

    Games that do not support cross-play you will not be able to play with other platforms.
