    minecraft crashing: exit code -1073740791


    over the last few days my minecraft java edition has been crashing with the exit code -1073740791. supposedly this indicates out of date drivers or conflicts with screen recording software, but i updated my drivers to the latest, reverted them, turned off NVIDIA overlay, deleted other screen recording software, none of which fixed the issue. this issue has only existed for the last week or so, beforehand was not a problem. before the issue appeared i installed the latest driver at the time which in turn caused a crash on another game, so i reverted to the driver i was on before & the issue became apparent, but i have updated to the latest nvidia driver on the 20th, the issue still persists. i completely uninstalled the game and reinstalled it which also didn't do anything.

    no dump files are created upon the crash, neither are crash logs in the .minecraft folder

    deleting and allowing minecraft to recreate the OpenAL.dll file also didn't fix the issue

    any help would be appreciated

    So, if you use Minecraft Java 1.18 or anything less than 1.19 it works and loads fine, right?

    If you want I can share another five more things to try, in that way you're going to cover basically everything from your side:

    1. Open Task Manager > select the startup tab > disable all the programs listed there. Restart your PC and give it a new try

    2. Create a new local administrator user in your PC and try from there:

    Do you know if your computer has two graphics cards? (Dedicated and integrated)

    If you don't know, let's try this:

    Open Windows Settings > Display > Graphics
    Once there under "add an app" select "Microsoft store app" > click on Browse > select Minecraft launcher (or everything related to Minecraft)

    Once you add it, click on it > options > power saving > click on Save. Restart your PC and give it a new try.

    **if that doesn't work, use instead High performance

    By the way, may I know if you tried downloading and installed the launcher for windows 7/8.1?
