Minecraft Code not working

I was planing on getting Minecraft Windows 10 edition when I couldn't Login i can open it, but its only the trial edition. I used a code I got after getting java edition in 2012 if that's any help.

Hi there,

if you haven't checked please check if you are using the same account in the store/game as you have used to redeem the code.

When a code is redeemed the purchase is linked to that account and that account needs to be used to install the game (and play it)

OK, that didn't work. She redeemed the gift code then saw it was for the wrong Minecraft.

I have a question. I added the code for the Minecraft game to my account because it was the only account we had at first. Then my daughter created an account and added the Builder Pack code to her account. It will not work because it says she does not
have Minecraft. Any way to fix or work around this problem?
