Minecraft Child Account

So I came across the problem that my child cannot play minecraft with me on a server since she cannot reach the Multiplayer section (Java edition).
I've tried to follow the steps to change her date of birth, in the family tree she is now set to 14 but the minecraft launcher still not shows the ability to access multiplayer.

I also tried to add payment information but that isn't possible on the kids account for some reason only I can do it on my account.

Any help would be awesome... Thanks.

The Microsoft account that you use for Minecraft, Is it added as child account into a Family Group ?

In the case of Minecraft Java, you will need to purchase Minecraft on your son's account, unfortunately.

"If you are purchasing Minecraft: Java Edition for a child, the child must have their own Minecraft account. And to make the purchase, you must sign in to their account to do so; games cannot be transferred between accounts."

Now, since you purchased it on a Mojang account, maybe they can open an exception for you or give you a discount on the second purchase for your son. You can try to contact their official support:

I'm trying to log on via my desktop PC. I set up an account for my child to use on the iPad and it works fine there, but I can't log on and access Minecraft with my child's account on my desktop PC.

I had the same issues, going round in circles. Follow the advise on this thread, then go into settings on minecraft and log out of the microsoft account, restart minecraft and log in with the child's account again. It worked for me.

You may need to manage her account settings by signing in to https://account.xbox.com/settings using your account or the account organizer.

Make sure to allow the setting in this screenshot that has an arrow.
