    Good day,

    I find myself unable to open the chat in Minecraft. When I try, I have the following message : "Chat not allowed by account settings. Cannot send message"

    I have migrated from a mojang account to a microsoft one a long time ago and I am the "family organiser" of my microsoft account, with no other family members.

    So far, after looking for answers on how to fix this problem, I have tried :

    Making sure that in the game the option in the chat settings is set to "Shown"
    Checking that all of my Xbox privacy and online safety settings are on "allowed" or "everyone" then submitting

    Change the settings from "allowed" to "block" and vice versa.

    Log in and log out of my microsoft account on minecraft.

    Deleting the game. Reinstalling it.

    Nothing worked. A solution would be appreciated.

    Okay. Then it might be linked to the outage. Let's wait while it's resolved and hopefully that addresses the issue. Another option will be to reach out to Minecraft support so see if they can help as well.

    Update: I can talk/chat now!

    Probable solution: I went to xbox.com (again), checked the settings, moved some from Allow to Block and saved the settings.

    Now it works. Thank you Jesse for your time and help.

    The outage states party chat and party chat text. To know if it correlates for sure, did this issue start yesterday at around the time you created the thread or a long time before that? If it is before, how long exactly?
