Minecraft can't verify that I own the game

I'm starting to see some reports from other players about this.

Thanks for the info, but there's surely a way for Microsoft to verify that I already own the game? They clearly display the packages that I've bought for Minecraft, Is there a way trace the keys?

No. You would still need the digital version. With a disc, the system uses the disc to verify you own the game. Since the Series S doesn't have a disc drive, the system can't verify ownership of a disc so the game won't run.

What has any of that got to do with the problem described?

An actual solution:

The pop-up messages which is obviously blocking a large portion of the screen will eventually go away by itself, but to prevent it ever appearing again, apply this resource pack (click the "Mediafire Download" button on that page.) The message was intended by Mojang to be helpful, but in situations where it blocks so much of the screen it prevents the game being played.

First, check for Windows updates and get all available updates from the Microsoft Store.

Please also power cycle your modem/router. Turn it off and unplug from the power source for few minutes before turning it back on.
