Minecraft cannot access results due to privacy settings

I am setting up a new Xbox with an existing adult Microsoft Live account. The account has been used to play Minecraft on an iPad. I have followed the posts which say that to join Realms, the Privacy settings must be set so that Multi-Player is active and
Joining Clubs is turned on. I have restarted the Xbox numerous times, redownloaded Minecraft, and signed in and out of the account several times. The message saying that I cannot access Realms due to my privacy settings still appears. What am I doing wrong?

Thank you for your reply. All privacy settings have been verified and are set to “Active” or “Everyone” so there should be no barrier to multi-player games and join groups.

The problem is not that I can’t join a specific Realm. It’s a general problem. Under Play, Minecraft says says “You need permission. You cannot play on Realms because of how your Xbox Live account is set up. This can be changed in your privacy & online safety
settings on Xbox Live."

Also i have looked over privacy setting several times and no setting seems to be blocking these features

I created a new account, verified that all of the privacy settings were correct, and signed into minecraft with that account, which is under the name "". however, a new issue arises. with that account, i only have access to the demo version of minecraft, and cannot log onto a multiplayer server to test the chat feature as a result. is there a way for me to transfer my old mojang character over to a new microsoft account?

changing the privacy settings from the Xbox website. The article I provided contains steps on how to access these settings. You should go through both the Windows 10/Xbox One and Xbox 360 privacy settings to ensure that there are no settings which could
be hindering your performance. The two settings that you should be looking for are called, "You can play with people outside of Xbox Live" and "You can communicate outside Xbox Live with voice and text." Please make sure these settings are both set to allow.
