Minecraft Bedrock Update Working for Others?

Minecraft Bedrock Edition was supposed to be an automatic update. We have until the 20th to get it or we will have to pay for it.

My kids XBox One S came with preloaded, Minecraft. They said it has been updated according to the picture they see,however when they try to load it, the game crashes. Please Help

On xbox 360 there wont be any new updates.

On the bedrock edition we will be getting the Villager&Pillager update early in the new year. Many other updates is also in the works. We will still get updates on minecraft as there is a huge gamer base for it.

There are several different versions of minecraft. Minecraft: Java edition is PC only and can only crossplay with Java players (mac, Lenox, PC) The minecraft that doesnt have a version next to it is the play together version or more commonly called bedrock.
Bedrock is the version that can be played across mobile, console, and PC. There are also editions that are made specifically for most consoles and even a stand alone mobile version. Examples would be Minecraft: Xbox One Edition, Minecraft: Pocket Edition.
These do not work with Bedrock which is just called Minecraft. Java is the most updated version of minecraft while bedrock would be right behind that one. The others I'm really not sure how often they update them if at all. Each edition of Minecraft has to
be purchased separately. I happen to own both Minecraft: Xbox one edition and Minecraft since they released at separate times. I also have Java on my PC. As for your issue they do not have a Bedrock version on the 360.

Sony pushed an update for Minecraft on Playstation 4 to update it to the "Bedrock" version, allowing Playstation 4 players to play with Xbox One, PC, Mobile and Switch users now.

Make sure you also have Version 1.14 of your Minecraft installed, and that you are playing on Xbox One, Switch, Playstation 4, Windows 10 or Android/iOS.

Minecraft on Xbox 360, Nintendo 3DS, and other "older" console versions can't play with others on the "Bedrock" version.

Java is the original release of Minecraft. Xbox One Edition will no longer be updated seeing as they released the Bedrock version for Xbox and Windows 10 and other platforms.
