    Minecraft Bedrock not free with Xbox One Edition disc


    Hi. I need help getting the bedrock edition of Minecraft on the Xbox One. So I bought the Xbox one edition disc around Christmas (2017) and then I went to play it. I soon found it there was a newer copy, and it was supposed to be free but it wasn’t. So I
    decided to wait,and wait until this point. I’ve contacted Mojang about it and their response is to message Xbox Support. Did I miss the deadline to get it free and I have to buy it or do I have a chance to get it free?

    Note: I haven’t bought a DLC or played it for at least 5 hours until about February

    In game i saw a message, that new Minecraft edition (Better Together/Bedrock Edition) is free for owners of Minecraft: Xbox One Edition. In my situation - i needed to play for 5 hours in Minecraft: Xbox One edition. I played that time in 25-29 of January.
    But new Minecraft edition was still not free for me. It says that offer ended in 30th of January. So - i didn't take new version of Minecraft for free because of this bug. So why is that happened? Help me please. I want that version so much!

    The chance to get it free for disc owners ended on January 31, 2018. You would have to buy it.

    Can you update to bedrock without a physical version on xbox one s?
    If you have Minecraft: Xbox One Edition you should automatically get Minecraft Bedrock Edition for Free. Hope this helps!

    How do i know if i am running bedrock edition of Minecraft?

    Check the title of the game in your Games and Apps. If it's just Minecraft than it's the bedrock edition. If it's Minecraft Xbox One Edition, it's not.
    Ok i checked and it does say xbox one edition. I checked the store and it said there was a new version of the game available that I could download for free. I think this might be it. I was running the xbox one edition and not the bedrock version.

    The Bedrock edition is an upgrade for the original Minecraft Xbox One Edition. Since that became available, the Xbox One Edition was removed. You can still find it on disc, but once you've upgraded the digital edition there is no way to go back.

    The Xbox One Edition of Minecraft was discontinued years ago and is no longer available for purchase.

    If you bought the Xbox One edition before you get the Bedrock edition for free, however you cannot get the Xbox One Edition for free if you only have the Bedrock Edition.

    I deleted an old game but it won’t show up in “All owned games” now I can’t download it.

    Oh, just a friendly reminder though that Minecraft Xbox One Edition is no longer available it was upgraded to Minecraft bedrock edition. Were you able to upgrade before when it was given for free?
