Minecraft Bedrock Edition - "Stuck on Locating Server"

One of my friends is hosting a Minecraft server through Apex Hosting, we're all playing on the Bedrock / Windows Edition. Today I was able to join the server with no issues at all, until about 2 hours ago when suddenly I was unable to connect. After selecting their server from the list it goes to the Generating World window, Locating server, and just hangs there. This doesn't seem to be affecting other people on the server, as they are all on there as I write this, and the sever ping seems low, varying between 10 and 15.

I've tried the following fixes:

The host has restarted the server.

Checked my own network and hardware for issues - Reset network adapter, reset router, ran my own ping tests, etc. My internet is fine, I'm able to browse and even play other games.

Restarted my computer

Completely uninstalled and reinstalled Minecraft and the Launcher, re-added the server, and tried to connect again

None of the above have worked, don't suppose anyone has any suggestions for what to try next? Short of playing another game, of course

EDIT: Just been chatting with the server admin, and from their point of view it shows me as in the game according to the player list, however it doesn't display a message saying I've joined the game and I just sit on the Locating server screen. If I then cancel, a message is displayed saying I left the game as if I was in there. Just adding this in case it helps narrow down the problem

I know this is an old thread and hope it gets a response but I literally did ALL the steps from this and still just has the same "locating server" problem.

Hi there Hayes welcome to the community forum! Christopher here, an Xbox fan just like you and has been on Xbox for years already. I would really love to make your day by helping you out. I suggest you try these basic troubleshooting steps!

Open Settings, click Update and Security and then Windows Update;

Click Check for Updates;

Click the Download and Install Now option, if available;

Also, check the Microsoft Store for any updates on the Xbox apps and its services.

Then try this:

Go to windows settings > apps > search for gaming services app > click on it and select advanced options.

After that, click repair and then restore, open the app and try again.

Then do the same for the Xbox app:

Go to windows settings > apps > search for Xbox app > click on it and select advanced options.

After that, click repair and then restore, open the app and try again.

If it still doesn't work you're going to uninstall the games services using a powershell command, then you're going to open the gamepass app, it will ask you to download and install the game services again :

In the windows search bar type Powershell > Right click and select open as administrator > Type the command: "get-appxpackage Microsoft.GamingServices | remove-Appxpackage –allusers" > Wait for the process to finish and then restart the PC, then open your Xbox gamepass app, it will ask you to install the gaming services again, install it and try again.
