Minecraft account migration from Mojang to Microsoft going bad / need to buy it AGAIN ?

I migrated accounts of my son and mine as described in the documentation from Mojang to the Microsoft account.

1. Now neither of us can play any more. It says only to play the demo. Guess the license wasn't migrated..

2. Neither of the two account can login any more to Mojang. the message is that the account where migrated!

3. Neither of the two account does have Minecraft Java in the History in the Payment&Billing

The only reference to the old install/license remaining I have is this:

Besides the obvious add / remove account and being absolutely sure to use the Microsoft account, after two weeks in discussing with Mojang support, I was told to write to Microsoft Support.

What I have already tried:

1. Remove account and add only Microsoft one

2. Remove %appdata%\minecraft

3. On the second computer clean Microsoft Windows, clean install Minecraft Java

4. On the third computer Linux install clean Minecraft Java

As I already lost two weeks in the Mojang community and support and an angry kid who can't play his favorite game, I invite you to restrain from meaningful comments in the lines of "are you sure" or "remove account".

I am echoing the thread Need to buy Minecraft again after migration?

Microsoft Support bot:

"Once you get to the virtual agent just say “Talk to an agent” and select Xbox as the product, and your issue from the list. Select the option “Call me back” or “Live chat”, which shows the estimated wait time/queue."

Are you joking ?!?! I tried!

Nobody replies in the live chat or there is an unknown error when asking to call back!!

Any help from the community?

Just check it your PC is listed on your device page. The PC you're trying to play the Minecraft on

Hello, My name is Jesse. I'm an Independent Advisor and a member of the Microsoft community and I'd love to assist you today.

It's not in the migration instructions, but after the migration, you have to ADD a NEW account, and link it to your Microsoft account. Startup will take longer, but it sure works.

On the login prompt in the java launcher, go back. You'll see the mojang account you had been signing into - ignore it, and add a new account to the launcher. Using the email address associated with the microsoft account you just migrated to, sign in with the email address and password of your microsoft account. It's not an elegant migration on the UX side of things, but it does work.

As I wrote in my first post, your advice was already tried.

To reply to your question yes, some devices where I tested, are in the Device list. Some are not. Whats your point?

I am having the same issue. I have logged out of the Mojang account, reinstalled the launcher, logged in with the only Microsoft I have and I only get the option to play the demo. I have logged into the minecraft.net website using my Microsoft account and it tells me I haven't bought it. I've logged into the website with my Mojang details and it tells me that my account has been migrated. I have tried getting a call back from the Microsoft support team and when I put my phone number in it told me that "Something has gone wrong on our end". I tried resubmitting it and I don't even get the option to put my phone number in now. I have the transaction ID from when I bought Minecraft in 2014. All I want to do is talk to someone that can let me have access back again, but that seems to be too much to ask.
