You may be more familiar with PC gaming than myself, but to the average gamer my points hold merit, console gaming is comparable with PC gaming but is more user friendly...

 

I know I am coming across harsher than I intend and I genuinely apologise for that, but the only reason that the 'user friendly' myth holds is that people haven't bothered to look what the state of PC gaming is like at the moment. They seem to be stuck in
the days of Windows 98.

 

The last PC game I played regularly was Command and Conquer Generals/Zero Hour, sure it wasn't to complicated to get up and running, but it's still easier on a console for the average gamer.

I know gaming is generally better on PC, but consoles are just easier to deal with on a day to day basis for the average gamer.

What you have to remember is, you build PC's and play a lot on PC's, someone who is new to PC gaming could very easily find it overwhelming.

 

There isn't a PC game in the last seven years that I've not been able to just install and play.

Sure I have the option to go into the settings to tinker with things to squeeze out a little more performance if I wish but I fail to see how that is a bad thing. I could have just left things as they were and had an equal to console experience.

As odd as it sounds I don't think gaming on a PC is an inherently better experience. Someone moving from PC gaming to an Xbox One could easily find it an overwhelming experience, it's just different but different doesn't mean less convenient.

 

I should be able to offer more insight when I get a better PC for Christmas time. However for now, my knowledge on the matter is about as reliable as my net connection (which isn't good lol).
