    Hi,

    I’m running into a problem with Minecraft Java Edition where none of the sub-versions (like 1.19.X, 1.20.X, or 1.21.X) will launch at all — this includes versions like 1.19.3, 1.20.1, 1.21.6, etc. However, the main full releases (like 1.19, 1.20, and 1.21) work completely fine.

    When I try to launch any of the 1.21.X versions from the Minecraft Launcher, nothing happens. The game doesn’t open, and no window appears. However, when I check Task Manager, I can see that a process called “OpenJDK Platform binary” is running. It just stays there doing nothing, and the game never starts.

    If I open the Minecraft Launcher again while "OpenJDK Platform binary" is still running, I immediately get an error with the message:
    “Something went wrong while launching the game – error code 0x800705b4”

    And if I manually end the “OpenJDK Platform binary” process in Task Manager, the launcher reopens and tells me that the game crashed, showing Exit Code 1.

    I’m not sure why the sub-versions won’t launch, while the full versions work without problems. If anyone has any idea what might be causing this or how to fix it, I’d really appreciate your help.

    So basically it's just a part of Java code and there's nothing I can do about it or is there a different version of Java that I can download that doesn't act this way.

    Thanks for the screenshot. That confirms Minecraft is technically launching, as your computer is running the Java process ("OpenJDK Platform binary" using 11% CPU), but the game window isn’t showing up.

    This usually means Minecraft is running in the background, but something is preventing it from displaying properly—most likely your graphics settings or how Java is configured.

    Are you using any mods or custom launch settings?

    Try this:

    1. Open the Minecraft Launcher.

    2. Click on "Installations" at the top.

    3. Hover over the latest version (it should say something like "Latest release"), click the three dots, then select "Edit".

    4. Check that there are no extra Java arguments entered at the bottom.

    5. Launch that version and see if it works.

    To restart Minecraft, follow these steps:

    For Java Edition (PC)

    1. Close Minecraft completely
      • Click the X in the top right of the game window.
      • If it's stuck, open Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc), find Minecraft Launcher or Java (TM) Platform SE binary, and click End Task.
    2. Close and restart the Minecraft Launcher
      • Click the X on the launcher to close it.
      • Reopen the Minecraft Launcher and log in again if needed.
    3. Restart your PC (optional but helpful)
      • If you're still having issues, restart your computer.
    For Bedrock Edition (Windows 10/11 from Microsoft Store)

    1. Close Minecraft
      • Click the X or use Alt + F4 to force close.
    2. Restart the game
      • Open the Start Menu, type "Minecraft," and click on Minecraft for Windows.
    3. If issues persist, restart your PC
