Minecon @ London - World Record Broken!

As Minecon began to kick off, a Guiness World Record Ajudicator came on stage to announce Minecon 2015 @ London broke the world record for the biggest gaming convention for a single game.

Boasting over 10,000 attendees, Minecon is officially the biggest single convention for a single game ever held in the world.

Kudos to Microsoft and Mojang!

This is happening right now to me in 2015. Scary

 

I saw this by accident thinking it was linking me to information about Minecon rather than the Twitch Live Stream of the event.

There were 4 people, groups of 2 at the front of the stage.

1 in each pair was blindfolded and holding the controller while their partner had to direct them in making a Pumpkin Pie in game.

The whole conference floor was sat there having to watch that crap.

£130.00 per ticket and anyone aged 4 or above is paying FULL Ticket price to go in and watch garbage like that.

Minecraft is cool... Minecon 2015 is a waste of time.

Well it's better than playing "Thief" on the XBox ONE but not by much.

 

Well, right now they're having a Telltale's Minecraft Story Mode panel.

 

Minecraft is wonderful.

Minecon isn't.

 

If it's so wondeful, Azrael, then why haven't you played it with me? I've been on it nearly every day for the past 3 weeks! ;P

 

Ooh, I almost forgot - here's the new for Minecraft: Story Mode. If you ask me, it looks pretty awesome! And it's got the voice talent of Patten Oswalt!

 

Me like like Minecraft but we don't really have any events like that in my area because I'm not American. Last year there was an article in my country's main newspaper which took up a whole page in the newspaper titled "Minecraft is popular". I was in a
party last night and one of my friends said "who plays Minecraft" and I said "who doesn't" and we all laughed. Minecraft is popular in New Zealand and Australia too.

Because you're on my BLOCK list for spamming me with random game invites to stuff I'm not playing and/or don't even own.

 

Well, if I wasn't on it, you would've learned a long time ago that I don't do that anymore. Thanks to the activity feed and game hubs, I can easily see who has what games and who's online and invite only them. No spam necessary!

 

I think Az was just tired and cranky GG! Lol.

My kids were happy with Minecon. They are obsessed with Minecraft........................

 

Yeah, I didn't see much of it myself, but I really liked the Story Mode trailer I linked to above - Telltale Games is 1 of the few developers that, IMO, live up to there name. I have yet to be disappointed by them, and based upon what I was seeing, I don't
think it's going to start now.
