Mindcraft Issue

Hi

My son is having an issue. He can't play the game. It is saying for us to try downloading the game again... Its a Disc, we didn't download it...What can i do to get it to start working again???

If your television has HDMI inputs then it is an HD tv. HD tvs are classified because of their resolution though.

As for OP question... I guess we are waiting to see if they're on a standard tv or HD without the right hookups. I sorta hope the latter for OP's sake.

HDMI input would be an HD TV. If you have the Yellow,Red, and white that is your standard A/V Cables which is almost on ever TV now a days. Check your TV owner manual to see if you have an HDMI port

 

Because Minecraft came out as a digital download long before it came out on disc, that's why you see the "try downloading the game again" error instead of "the disc is dirty or damaged" message.

So essentially the disc is either dirty or damaged, or the optical drive may be on it's last legs.

Try cleaning the disc first. If that doesn't work, try the disc in another console. If the disc works in another console, then it'll be your optical drive that has developed a fault. If the disc doesn't work in another console, or other discs work just fine
in your console, then the disc is damaged and will need replacing.

Another thing you could try, which sometimes works, is to install the game onto the hard drive of the console, or even a USB stick if there isn't enough space on the console.

You can install the game by pressing "X" to go to game details, rather than pressing "A" to start the game when on the dashboard. The option to install the game will show there.
