Discus and support Military stationed oversea's in XBoX on Consoles to solve the problem; I am currently dealing with this issue as well.     I am currently dealing with this issue as well. Microsoft created a console that is supposed to be the center of our living rooms, but wont support us if something faulty happens. My console is scratching disks and overheating. Its still under warranty,
    but I don't want to be without a console while they are trying to figure out whats wrong with it. We are loyal even while overseas, but receive substandard assistance. This needs to be addressed. You would think that with the amount of people Microsoft has
    already lost to the rival PlayStation brand they would be more concerned.

    Just a heads up for everyone that could end up in the same situation as I did. If you have to send your system to xbox for repair you will have to pay for the shipment since, the insurance on the package. Also we do not qualify for the advanced system
    warrenty because the amount of time it takes for mail to go through APO would be to long. I'm hoping if this gets enough acknowledgment maybe someone will make a change about this. Since they have already worked with us once realizing that a 24 hour net
    connection isn't always possible.

    These are valid US addresses.
    Hi,

    They maybe valid U.S addresses for receiving mail and what-not, but U.S bases overseas in Europe and Asia are generally not legal U.S territory. My quick research suggests you should Look at your SOFA (Status of Forces Agreement), either that or speak to
    your legal representative or Embassy.

    There is of course a secondary issue which can not be overridden by the above, that being Internet access. Xbox Live sets your physical location based on your I.P Address. For Example, if you were in the U.S Air Force based at RAF Lakenheath and had access
    to a Xbox console, you would get your Internet access from the host nation, in this instance from a UK ISP.

    So even if you had a U.S address, you would still be physically seen by Xbox Live in whatever host nation you are currently serving. There is no way of getting around this.

    Some content requires that your account region and physical region match. This is to stop people creating accounts from different regions to get around content region locks.

    -

    So in this case the IP you have is identifying you as being in South Korea while your account is North American and so the marketplace will not let you redeem the code.

    -

    Changing the console location in Settings will not change this unfortunately.

    Interesting! I was unaware that the 1-800-4-MY-XBOX number was unavailable outside the US? In this case I would recomment going to www.live.xbox.com. sign in, click on Xbox Live under the support tab, click on Redeem prepaid codes on your Xbox LIVE account,
    at the very bottom under "Assistance" it will say Contact Us, from there you can set up a LIVE chat with a tech agent who might be able to solve your delema. I hope you get this fixed. Sorry if this didn't help.
