Military Simulator (like ARMA) on XBONE ... what do you think

Too many controls, not enough buttons on the controller to map them to.

 

I thought that OF: Dragon Rising did it quite well with the controls... just the game itself was lacking the open world feel about it.

I don't need an exact arma clone or whatever, but just something that is not so arcady as Battlefield is.

[/quote]Dragon Rising was a great game, it's a shame the same could not be said of it's sequel Red River, in my opinion.

 

OP-are you using the term ARMA to refer to Americas Army? As far as I know this was the only military simulator apart from perhaps Full Spectrum Warrior.FSW was brutal unfair and unforgiving if my memory is accurate.

 

LOW a real war battle is unfair and unforgiving. Ask and wounded vets in UNITED STATES. They tell u that kind shooter u like to played. Do not repaseints what they gone though.

Dakrplayer-if war is as unfair as you claim I wont be enlisting anytime soon.lol OP-You cant simulate war.There are situations that arise which no one could ever plan for or anticipate.

 

ARMA is short for the Armed Assault franchise by bohemia interactive. the ones who originally made Operation Flashpoint (before Codemasters bought that IP and destroyed :/ ).

Full Spectrum Warrior was awesome on the old Xbox and brutal. But I'd like to see more like an FPS with several vehicles to control and a massive open world landscape (like in dragon rising).

It should be possible, but I guess since it's not as accessible as COD or Battlefield major companies will never touch this terrain. sadly.

If ported to Xbox One, while it wouldn't exactly be the same, it's create a level playing field for most users which I've definitely love as I'm limited to only using my Xbox 360 controller for driving/flying or long distance running while playing Arma 2
(soon to be Arma 3) or DayZ standalone.

 

I wonder what happen with Call of Duty if ARMA comes to
XboX

Then you have never played Operation Flashpoint on the old xbox, Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising on the 360 or Operation Flashpoint: Red River on the 360 ^^

 

I would like to see a new Full Spectrum Warrior game, I passed up on the franchise first time around, a decision I regret today...

 

If it means getting DayZ, then give me Arma
