Migrating XBox Live gamer account to a new email

I need to know how to migrate my XBox account with all of its relevant gamer tag, information, games, achievements, etc. to a new email. The email account associated, currently, with my XBox Live account is closing soon as we are moving away from a local
cable provider to Google Fiber. I have managed to update the email on my Microsoft account, but I can not find how to do so on my XBox Live account. My XBox will sign in under the new email. Any answers would be appreciated as it took me 3 hours of online
chatting with Microsoft just to get that account updated (and that was the time spent with the CSR as I explained over and over what I wanted to do).

I need to know how to migrate my XBox account with all of its relevant gamer information, games, acheivements, etc. to the new email.

I have 2 Email Accounts, both are microsoft accounts and both have xbox one accounts on it.

Once a Microsoft Account has a Gamertag associated to it, an Xbox Live Gamertag migration is not possible. Unfortunately in this case that means that your GMX email will not be able to migrate to your Gmail due to it already having an Xbox Live account tied

So, how many of you are 10 year Xbox Live gamers?

I started with the xboxlive beta with the headset and MotoGP disk, but I currently have a new different gamer tag due to my associated Hotmail account going inactive, due to not logging into email, and thus preventing me from renewing the live account. I had to create a new account while I went through the steps of recovery for the Hotmail address. Once recovered, I simply stayed with my new gamer tag... Now associated with the old Hotmail account. :-(

 

You should be able to just change the e-mail account on your existing account to the new e-mail address. This link should give you the information that you need. support.xbox.com/.../change-email-sign-in-for-microsoft-account

Genesis: I appreciate the help, but that's what I've already done - updating the email on my Microsoft account. Will that be enough to migrate all of my gamer info for XBox Live?

 

The email you use for your Microsoft account is the same that you use to log into Live. As long as you've changed that, then it's all you need to do. You don't have to migrate any other information.

I am attempting to migrate my account as well. I found an old 360 forum that outlines it but the links for migrating the account no longer function.

I spoke with a support rep and the steps in the forum seam valid if i can find a way to do the actual migration.

 

I did find a link on how to do it on an 360 but i have not had any luck for the XBox One.

Well, I tried just logging in to XBox Live with the new email. It created a whole new profile. Sheesh! Why does this have to be so
[Mod Removed] complicated?! Too bad Microsoft and XBox Live Customer Support is so incomprehensibly uncommunicative, at best and incompetent, at worst. What a headache!!
