Migrated mojang account to microsoft, but only old XBOX account shows up.

As many platforms have to deal with some type of account market - they usually have systems in place to prevent account selling. That includes preventing you from linking your old account to a new Xbox account. If this is the case, the best way to fix this issue is to email Mojang support as Microsoft aren’t involved with external game accounts (to some extent).

Your Xbox profile is associated with a Microsoft account and there is no way to associate it with another Microsoft account. When you migrated your Mojang account to a Microsoft account, you used a Microsoft account that has this old/wrong Xbox profile, right?

Do you know what Microsoft account your Xbox profile with 7+ years is associated with? If you know, you will need to reach to Minecraft support and explain your situation to them. Please refer to "I migrated to the wrong Microsoft account, what can I do?" on the official Minecraft url below:

I'm having a similar problem. After migrating my Mojang account to a Microsoft account, when I attempt to login using the Microsoft credentials, it shows up as a non-paid / demo account. I don't want to have to buy the game again. I wonder if it is possible the account was migrated to a different Microsoft account than the one I am using, but Mojang support cannot address that. I would love to be able to lookup what account name/email address my old Mojang account was migrated to.

No, I don’t think my account was hacked I think it might’ve been a bug. Prior to migrating my Mojang account to Microsoft. I’ve never had a Microsoft account. I accidentally used the same Microsoft email address I used to Migrate my Mojang account to a Microsoft to create a new Microsoft account. Now it somehow it deleted my old Xbox account that my Minecraft account was linked to.

Now every time when I login into Minecraft it tells me I need to buy the game. I still have the email in my inbox showing that I used the same Microsoft email address to Migrate my Mojang account it you want me to provide that to you.

In the screenshot below is my old Xbox account “” which is connected to my Minecraft account below. The active account “OUTLOSTLOL” is the new account which is the same one that was created with the same email address as the old one. When I look up my old Xbox account “” it shows that it no longer exists. It must’ve somehow gotten deleted when I created a new Microsoft account.

I can't see what you mean in the screenshot as it only shows that you are trying to log with a Mojang account, but you either have already migrated that account and you need to use Microsoft login or you haven't migrated the account and you need to do the migration process
