    My son's gamertag is linked to my hotmail address. He's an adult now & going to university. I want to move his gamertag to another email address. I'm advised by MS support that if I do this my hotmail address will be permanently deleted. I've had
    the hotmail for 20 years. & it's my primary email for everything in my life. I don't see why the 2 accounts can't be separated. can anyone help with this?

    The best thing for your son to do is start a new account and he can use the same gamer tag. This option is coming soon. The email is associated with the Xbox account, gamer tag, so there is no way to seperate them at this time.

    ok. so I've added my sons gmail account as an alias. if I make the gmail primary how does that effect the Hotmail account & how I log in to my laptops? can he log in to his xbox with the gmail (& see his gamertag & profile) & can I log in to my devices
    with the Hotmail address?
