Might buy xbox one. Help appreciated

Hi currently own a ps3 and ps4 and i am thinking of buying a xbox one. I know the specs and what it can and cant do.

Mainly have questions about subs. I dont intend to purchase online sub because im not huge online player. I understand that you need gold for most apps and stuff but they dont interest me.

1. Do i need online sub to purchase games from xbox store?

2. Do i need online sub to use the tv functions if and when available in uk?

3. Are there plans to make xbox one backwards compatible with 360? I understand both are pc based architecture

I plan on buying an xbox for future and past exclusives. Gears of war interests me a lot and the future game from insomniac does too. Games i loved on playstation include uncharted, last of us, infamous.

Not really a big fps fan so i avoid those. Any help with these questions would be appreciated. Also any other negatives about not having gold that i dont know about will be helpful. I currently subscribe to ps plus and dont really want another online subscription
if i can get away with it.

Hi there I just got the new xbox one s.

Ive had an Xbox one previously but now when I try and purchase items on the store it just says working once I select the buy option?

Any help appreciated

how do you bluetooth a xbox one?so i can use bluetooth headphones any help would be appreciated.

 

1 You don't need a sub to buy games.

2 Not 100% sure but again I don't think you need a sub.

3 As far as I'm aware there is no plans for backwards compatability but never say never I guess!!

To be honest though I think you should get a gold subscription as it just adds so much more to the whole experience and a years sub can be bought for roughly £25

 

Yeah thanks for reply. I honestly know i wont play online and use any of the apps that require gold. Ok just say if i bought a game that had online leaderboards. Would the leaderboards require a sub?

Twenty five could be used to buy a game or put towards one.

 

Yeah if its an online leaderboard your time wouldn't be posted if you don't have a sub.

 

Ok that benefits me because its annoying seeing my name at bottom lol. I just searched internet on everything you get for having gold.

Basically if you want single player only and using it as a blu ray player then no sub is fine. I will only use it for single player games

 

To add onto the gold sub bit, one single gold sub will cover multiple accounts on the Xbox One too. You share the one subscription so its worth the cost imo.

 

If you're not getting "LIVE" there's not much point in getting a One.

You miss out on a lot of pluses and features.

Some are no big deal. "Dead Rising 3" I don't want another player ruining my single player experience so I use the "offline" setting.

Others like "Titanfall" and "Plants vs Zombies" us other players to create more dynamic A.I. as enemies.

If you don't care for online then save yer money buddy.

 

Im all for live and subscribed for years and will continue to do so, i would recomend getting it as its makes a good experience great. Wouldnt agree that there's not much point in getting a one without live, plenty of good sp experiences forza, ryse, DR3
etc but will say to get the most from them an enhance the experience live is required, well thats my opinion anyway and it all comes down to preference but im sure you will enjoy it with or without live.

 

Been gold constantly for 8 and a half years. No regrets here. Like has been mentioned above, there are some cracking deals knocking about for subs and MS credit these days.

 

I know Shopto have 12 month + 1 month for £27.85 at the moment, no doubt some better deals if you look about.
