when fighting, always counter before attacking, and when fighting a big guy or a guy that is not easy to fight, disable there ability to attack first, then strike. hope that helps

You may have started too late waiting. Start waiting before the sun goes down, and make sure no other key quests are active. That might help.

The E3 demo, something I noticed, not too happy.

This might be annoying later on in the game, but I wouldn't be too bothered by it.

FFXI has been available for the Xbox 360, since 2006. So no, it's not the first time you can play it on the console. It was also available for the PS2 in Japan and America, but SE cancelled support for it a year or so ago.

YEP, That was the expansion I saw. Now if I am not mistaking, is this going to be the first time you are able to play XI on the xbox console? I really had thought I had the original XI with all the add ons but it was for the PC only, not the xbox. And
seeing as I hate playing on PC I never played it.

The expansion you probably saw, was for Seekers of Adoulin, the fifth expansion for the game. To play it on your Xbox 360, you need the original game... which you'd only be able to get a complete copy from SE's online store I'm afraid. You could try eBay,
Craigslist etc... but to make your account for FFXI, you need the registration codes which are one use only.
